Suicide is a leading cause of death among LGBTQ people but we have no targeted prevention programs in Canada. Still Here encourages LGBTQ people to share their stories through photography to illuminate the factors that cause suicide among this population, as well as to help destigmatize depression and suicide. The photographs have been exhibited in Ottawa and Vancouver as a means to providing spaces for people to share their stories and spark conversations about suicide prevention. These exhibits have inspired hundreds of individuals to share their stories and lobby targeted suicide prevention initiatives for LGBTQ people. The work of Still Here is in part possible due to the commitment of individual donors.
Please make a donation and help us break the silence surrounding suicide among LGBTQ people. Donations allow us to recruit more individuals to share their stories, to put on exhibits, and to develop books and other materials that help break the silence around suicide. Your donation will be a lobby for suicide prevention.
